All these fish together?

Thats because ur one is the first fish inside a tank. Those one in the picture might be live together ever since they r little or been put in the tank at the same time. Thats probably why they dont fight like urs did. Or maybe fish number inside his tank is soo huge that fish cant be them self as too many other which generally sucks for fish to lose their personality because of over crowed.

Well I knew that if they were raised together they would be fine. It just looked like the tank was way overcrowded. That's all.

To be fair to the seller, he hasn't said what size tank they're currently in, or the filtration used. Still wouldn't keep that mix tho! :S
And I have to agree that it does look crowded by those pics. But without full details we will never know. :dunno:
It's no good. Oscars are really growing on me. Pity one wouldn't go in my 35 with the pictus cats. Ah well.
Hugs,
P.

i see two oscars, two JDs, two plecos, a texas cichlid, and what looks like maybe a severum. since everybody (except the JDs) are hanging out together and it looks like the JD is about two-thirds the width of the tank... i've got my money on severely overcrowded fish.

the absolute widest that tank can be is 18 inches, which i think is probably at most 140g (6x1.5x2 ft). that's large enough for two adult oscars, but not adult oscars and all those other fish.

what really makes me sad about this arrangement is that if placed into a sufficiently sized tank for all those fish--they probably would kill each other. :/

He's using the fish store style approach. Stuff the tank wall to wall with fish and they're pretty much forced into a truce - no room to make territories, no reason to beat up other fish. It's a completely useless way to keep these fish, but technically it can be done successfully, if simply having the fish keep breathing is successful.

I'm glad to see that someone else was atleast a little bit as shocked as I was.

i have asked the seller a question so i can put all of your minds at rest (although I am interested too :p )....

..."what size tank are your fish in at the moment and what size tank will i need when they are all fully grown?"

I tried not to sound too condescending so he will hopefully answer my question.

will let you knwo what he comes back with (if anything).
