Within the last couple months i'v been getting into planted tanks alot and well i am now researching alot about pressurized co2. i'v been searching for hours just on information about it over conventional co2 with yeast. But here are a couple links to start with before asking the same questions on the forum as many others have. Research yourself first it will answer alot of questions. So here you go, put your own links if you have anymore. Maybe we can make this as a sticky, because i know alot of guys like myself didnt know where to look for info such as this.

Hope these help you guys, again if you have anymore just pm me and i'll add them to the post if you want.

Yeah thanks for the info, hoping to get a system in the next couple of months. I do have one question that I think I know the answer to.

Can you run a CO2 cylinder laying flat on its side?

I figured this probably wouldn't work due to the fact the CO2 is liquid, but I wasn't sure of the actual level that the liquid would be at in the tank.

this really should be pinned.. its an amazing topic with lots of great links!!

Without wishing to grow my own head, I helped a few people a while back set up a pressurised system, so this link might be of use to others :)

CO2 cylinders come in two variants. One dishes out gaseous CO2 which is what we want as plant growers. All cylinders made for the planted tank will give out gaseous CO2. The other dishes out liquid CO2 which is just plain nasty for aquariums. Both cylinders are filled with liquid CO2. The gaseous cylinder depend on the liquid not being above the level of the outlet inside the cylinder to enable only the gas to escape. As such, if you put a cylinder on it's side and it's more than about a third full, you'll get liquid CO2 entering your system. If by some miracle the rapidly cooling liquid doesn't wreck your regulator, solenoid etc. and enters your tank you'll probably get at worst icebergs in the tank, at best a small pressurised gas explosion as the cold liquid meets the warm tank water and rapidly expands.

So, to summarise, do what nicklfire says!
