All new to this

I just recently bought 2 guppies but I am not sure if they are 2 males or 1 of each. One has a orange and black tail and the other is all black with a clear looking tail. I was told that the orange and black tailed one is male and the other is female but just wanting someone elses opinion that knows more about guppies then me.

It certainly sounds like 1 of each but if you could post a pic to be certain.

Male Guppies can have that coloring...but a sure way to tell is to look at the anal fin. On a female it will look like a fan, and on a male it will be a point.
