All I Can Say Is Wtf?

who'd want one of these at their wedding exactly?
A muppet with a lack of originality, logic and romance maybe.....

"How to impress the guests?" -_-

"I know" :shifty:

"A fish!" :hyper:

Guests either quaff free ale (paying little attention to Betta beyond polite remarks) and leave.
Or are impressed by fish in overgrown wine glass, in such rare circumstances i'd suggest the bride and groom purchase themselves some intelligent friends.....

Muppets....

while i don't think it's really the greatest idea, my guess would be that whoever rents out the centerpieces actually owns the bettas and might actually care for them as they are part of the business. It's a better prospect than the couple who dunks 50-100 bettas in vases on their own and then has nothing to do with them.

the tanks look wayy to small. But, i think they only hav3e them in there temp.

ah, but you forget the option of bored guests torturing the fish. do a quick search for "wedding" in this forum and you'll quickly find a number of horror stories. you'll also find a number of threads where TFF members have considered betta "displays" at their wedding; some of these stem from a desire to share their love of fish, while others are an excuse to buy a couple dozen crowntails.

what's really a shame is that the website is also advertising these overgrown candle-holders as long term housing. seems like less of a mansion and more of a hot box to me.

I've seen a few of those before, personally i can't get over the perverse idea that in such instances part of a weddings 'celebration' almost certainly results in the death of numerous fish.

I'm sure there are fish lovers who'd like to think their friends will research such matters or pay attention to caresheets but i think it's fairly realistic to assume that with such a huge group of people you just don't and can't know.

Then theres the point that we don't neccessarily know our friends, only what they tell us :shifty: so who's to say if they would show reasonable care and wouldn't just say what the 'happy' couple want to hear.

Then again what about the canapes....

Either way a completely irresponsible act, imo.

http://www.bettamansions.com/ Found this whilst googling for a forum I was looking at, who'd want one of these at their wedding exactly?

This is not really new. Attacking 'small betta tanks' are kind of like beating a dead horse. I have gone to a wedding with these on each table and they kind of became forgotten. The betta fish were rented from some place along with the small tanks. Rented...not bought. These tanks are temporary holders.

OMG they are so tiny, who wants dead fish at their wedding?

If a fish is put in a small tank it isn't going to go "omg dude! i'm in a small tank" and then five minutes later keels over and dies. It is temporary. Plus I don't think that people are going to place dead fish in a container for a center piece.

They're pretty, but fish cant live in there. Fill it with wine though...

It is just temporary. It isn't great for a home but it can suit for a small period of time.

it sickens me to wonder what they do with the fish after the wedding!

Here is your answer: "For special events we have developed a collection to add charm, beauty, and elegance, as well as a conversation piece to the center of every table . With our rental option, we eliminate the expense of purchasing numerous fish and containers."

the tanks look wayy to small. But, i think they only hav3e them in there temp.

yep...

Thinking about the weddings I have been too I'm pretty sure a lot of these fish end up spending a good couple of hours being tortured by drunk guests or bored kids. Seems like a really bad idea to me.

I know what they do with them.... they give them as a prize during their reception. Winner at the table gets the centerpiece, aka fishbowl.

That's how we're getting our next fish. (Well, maybe not next if hubby ends up at a petstore first LOL) A friend of ours got one last year and doesn't want it. Says he forgets about it, forgets to feed it, etc. Hubby is trying to find a time that is convenient to go rescue the fish since the friend never wanted it to begin with. At least he kept it alive for a year! We're looking forward to him living at our house. We'll feed him well! LOL
