Ok ive had some posts about finding the perfect fish for me, i want the Demonsoni ! but i know they have a lot of aggression and was wondering if keeping 5-8 of these little girls together would be ok ? no males, just females !

Females still have a pecking order so aggression would still be a factor. If you are planning on keeping just Demasoni, i would go for a 1 male to 3/4 female ratio. Lots of caves/hiding places are essential in the tank and i would add all the fish together as juveniles (the younger, the better) so that they grow up together, this should help a bit with the aggression.

The other reason I wouldn't go with just females is that they are slightly duller in appearance, still stunning fish but not as distinctive as the males. They are very aggressive fish but organise the tank correctly, do your research and you could end up with a really amazing setup

i have tried doing research, tust me, i just cant find any females that look as nie as the males do, so the only set up i can see are Ps. Saulosi, i want yellow fish and blue striped fish, i really want yellow labs and some other blue fish, but the blues will have to have a male and some females, and the females are not that much of eye-candy ! so i am not sure

I actually think labs would do well with Demasoni. IMO Demasoni are very aggressive towards anything remotely resembling their colouration. Labs obviously look nothing like Demasoni and also grow a lot bigger so despite their different temperament i think they would work well together.

The only issue will be the Demasoni themselves. I don't think you will get away with more than 1 male in your tank size so i would try 1 male and say 4,5 or 6 females as your best option. I certainly wouldn't rule the Demasoni out altogether but more than 1 male would be risky.

Hope this helps

but isnt it hard to differ males and females in demosoni's ?
which would be better, the demosoni and labs or just a species tank of Ps. Saulosi's ?

Female Demasoni are normally slightly lighter shades of blue although a sub-dominant male can also look like this but as a general rule its quite reliable.

IMO P.Saulosi would be safer but less interesting than the labs/Demasoni. If it were me, i would have to try the labs/Demasoni. Whilst i dislike doing it, fish can always be returned if things don't work out. The saulosi could be plan B if needed.

I'd go for something like 6 labs and 5 Demasoni (1 male, 4 female).
