Don't know if this helps, but I have 2 ammonia bottles for my ammonia test and assumed one was just a spare. My tests were clear as well until I realised that you have to use both bottles! You're probably not as stoopid as me though, but just a thought

Hiya Sussexgirl!

I know, what a dope! I kept doing the tests everyday thinking "There must be ammonia in there" cos I was doing a fish cycle. Hubby kept saying " are you sure you are doing it right, what's this bottle for?" I'm snapping at him "it's a spare one, I'm definitely doing it right, it must be faulty!" Then I realised it said "ammonia number 2" on it. This went on for a week! LMAO!
