okay after a lovely thread of Mike455555555555555's bottled java fern and out lovely chat in the chat room, i am going to attempt my own bottled design with a little twist mine will be submerged rather than his emersed
okay so i have gone with 3 2Ltr bottles joined together, i will probably use 22mm pipe maybe bigger to join them up, one of the bottles is going to be on its side, and the other two will be upright
reasons well i want vallis
in one the upright's and crypt's for the laying down one, the other (first) upright one will be filter/heater built in sorta thing
i will also use a home made filter, using a Fluval Mini or similar and a sealed food box
i am unsure on what pipe to use either 6mm airline hose or i may up to 8 or 10 or even 12mm pipe depending on what i can get my hands on at the LFS today, i am planning on trying to get everything today and maybe build it and have it fully
running today/tomorrow depends on how quickly i can get the stuff.

okay so for some info
Lighting is going to be the Sun, just like Mike's bottle, i don't have a place in my house that has sun for the whole time it is up so it will be interesting to see where i can put this and how much sun it will get if i can get my hands on a Fluval mini today i will have 200lph to play with again i may need to restrict this as i will have 3x 2 ltrs thats 6 ltrs for bottles and around 1 or even half a ltr for the filter so overkill a bit with the pump, but its the lowest i can get my hands on today.
i plan to have two types of plants to start with Vallis and crpyts, any form i prefer normal vallis not giganti no i'm not that stupid
, and crypts well i love the ones in my current tank so i may steel from there but il see what my LFS has for offer today, i may with a little more research see if i can get shrimp can anyone reading this let me know? i was told i could have shrimp if i make the holes between the two bottles with plants big enough so they can move between the bottles that is what i am planning, would be interesting are there any fish? i don't plan on fish but hey worth an ask, the i plan to have the water staggered slightly first bottle being almost full, then it will trickle into the second bottle from the top and that will help reduce the pressure of the flow a bit, then the flow will just run into the last bottle that will be completely full, i plan to use Sand as my substrate the same thats in my current tank, i have some spare so il use that, i am going to use seachems root tabs i think 1 in the upright bottle and maybe 2 or three in the other seeming crpyts are heavy root feeders. and in my filter i plan to use a mechanical filter of metal grid like wire i used in my old tank before, and tight's, some foam and filter floss, again plan for fish or shrimp at start or even ever so no real need for a filter more mechanical tbh to protect the pump
i plan to dose liquid ferts both macro and micro, as well as liquid co2 with natural sun light will be interesting to see what growth rate be it in cloud/direct sun and the biggest problem i will have is algae so my flow needs to be spot on
i think that is all i can remember so what you all think? mad i know but me and mike will be holding a comp which bottles look the best after 2 months

EDIT: almost forgot, this system i want to be sealed, so i may need to cut holes into the bottles and maybe seal them back up again i want it sealed so i don't loose any water and keep heat and moisture in
