i have a friend who has a natrual way of removing algue from ponds and was wondering if it would work in my tank,

using barly straw to kill of the algue as theres something in them that kills it, any ideas if safe to put in me tropical tank?????

I've put barley straw in the pond ,but never heard of it in an aquarium, there is stuff you can buy for alge

There is stuff you can buy for tank algae and it is based on barley straw. I have used it but I can't say if it works or not as I realised I was feeding my fish way too much and have cut down so it all looks better anyway. :)

gona move the tank (lol) because i think its getting to much light in the morning, and may try the barly, but will see what happens after the move... (sugestions may be needed), was thinking as I gota do a water change i will get 6-7 people to help move it as wil lbe a little lighter... darv

ps. little wary of the stuff to add to the tank as may not do fish any good...
