ive had algea before but not like this its dark brownish and hairy about half inch long didnt notice before cos its the same colour as the bogwood, its only on the bogwood , in a cycling tank, could this be a consequence of low light and can i just scrub it of? thanks pebbles

Yes, just take the wood out and scrub it off. I would then boil the bogwood to be sure you kill off any other algae that might be deeper than you can scrub.
