I have this algae growing in my aquarium, only on plants. It is very weird because it has a slimy texture, and even though I am planning to buy a bunch of ottos I don't think they will eat this stuff... or will they? Anyways what can I do besides buy chemicals? The tank is really stable, I keep discus so the water parameters are top notch. Maybe just take it out manually? I am afraid however that it may grow back.
Here's a picture... it kinda sucks but unfortunately I currently only have a camera phone.

if you are feeding lots of dry food, then cut back on it as uneaten dry food will often cause it to grow on Java Moss.
Increase water movement and aeration/ surface turbulence.
Do daily water changes and gravel cleans for a few weeks on until it is gone. Try to syphon the stuff out. It might be easier to remove the plant and wash it under the garden hose. Then put it back in the tank.

There aren't any freshwater fish that eat it.

Ok, thanks for the advice... I think it is the dry food, as I have had some anorexic discus that leave alot of it to fall down to the plants...
again, tnx guys!
