Ok there seems to be 100's of things which claim to eat algea but what is the best generally to eat the common green algea that grows on tank sides.

Must not get big or be rare and expensive.

bristlenose pleco or oto's r ur best bet both cheap and both easy 2 obtane :)

How many otto's for a 125L tank with 9 tiger barbs an apple snail and a plec at 4" or am I already over crowded.

I got 3 for a tank about that size and they could not quite get the job done. They did make a valiant try though. I would guess that 5 otos would be plenty for a tank that size. In a month you can expect to be subsidizing them with spirulina.
