Hope I get this right.
I am having a problem with hairalgae in one of my tanks water tested fine plant life good, but cannot get shot of it, algae eaters seem to have gone on strike.
I am about to use a shop bought treatment by Soll, does not tell me if it is Ok to use with fish or plant life, but does not say it is harmful to them either, only warning freah water only.
any info would be welcome

Hi, most chemicals used to clear alges are harsh on plants, or are designed for green water only. IMO the best way to remove algea, is to use a clean (unused, rinced under the tap) sponge, of the type used for washing-up pots. It may take a while to do, but leaves minimal impact on plants and fish.
