Dose anyone feel that the war on algae is never ending and that they will stop at nothiung to get rid of all the algae in there tank?

I was pondering over in one day while cleaning my tank and through I'd let the algae grow for a whil to see how out of control it gets. And by in large in didn't make much of a differance the fish and plec seem to keep in mostley under control!

Plus give the tank a more natural look rather than some of the clinicl clean tanks you see?

What do you think?

I like green algea and only remove it from the front and viewable sides of the tanks, as you say it gives the tank a more natural look and it absorbs large ammounts of nitrogen compounds and phosphates from the water.
Black hair algea on the other hand is disgusting stuff which i strive to make extinct in my tanks, luckily it doesnt seem to compete well against green algea so i dont have much of a problem with it.

Yeah, I only clean algae off the front, although I wish I had more algae :( Especially in the 15g, green algae on the rocks would look fab.
