So I just started my new 20 gallon tank last week. When I bought my first round of fish i got 4 tiger barbs (2 albino and 2 normal), one red tailed shark, and one twig cat. Since then I have gotten two more tiger barbs to incite schooling behavior. The addition did in fact make the tiger barbs quit nipping at each other. Anyhow given that there is no algae in my tank my twig cat has little to eat except for the algae wafers that i got. The only problem is that the tiger barbs eat the algae wafers, leaving none for the twig cat. Does anyone have any advice to get the tiger barbs away from eating the algae wafers so that the twig cat can eat?

hi give the barbs some flake wait for their feeding frenzy to begin & drop the algae tab near the cat

Sweet I'm gonna give that a try tonight. Ill let you know how it goes.

Feed when the lights go out. The cat should be more active (although I'm not familiar with that species) and the barbs will have a harder time finding wafers. Also, feed flakes and wafers at teh same time. Barbs should go for flakes first.
