I have a 36 USG Tank (see details in profile) and had severe algae and BGA problems.

I removed the infected plants except for an annubias nana that I treated with bleach diluted 20:1.
I removed as much remaining algae & BGA as I could.
I replanted with anacharis, bocaba, rotala and some crypts.
I medicated the tank for BGA.
I have been utilizing the EI method of fertilization.

No fish casualties.
Plants growing like crazy (It's a jungle).
So far (3 weeks) no algae or BGA.
Have not had to clean algae from the glass at all.

So far, so good.

That's good news. Hopefully if you keep up your EI dosing it shouldn't return.

What did you use to medicate the tank....Maracyn?

Glad to hear of your success.

Just ensure you keep your NO3 levels up above 10ppm, have minimal flow deadspots and minimal natural light to prevent a re-occurance.
