Hello there i'm just after a bit of advice really. Not sure if this is a problem or not but thought I would ask anyway. I have a bioube aquarium with about 15 fish in a mix of danios, minows and gouramis. A few foux plants and a few green leaved plants. The set up is about 8 months old and over the past 2-4 weeks I have noticed algae growing in various places. The algae is green and started growing on the leaves of one of the plants, it then spread to the tube of the pump then onto the volcano which covers the pump and now I have noticed it on some of the stones in the base of my tank. I have been doing regular water changes in total about 60% weekly and have recently had to change my pump as the old one gave up the ghost and stopped working. I have looked around the web and from what I have found "some" algae is to be expected when the tank is well lit and that you should have the light off for 10-12 hours a day. I was just wondering should I be worried about the algae...should I be doing more to remove it...or should I have more "alage eaters" and any other advice you could give me. Thanks for any help.
