Algae Problem

hey yall
i have had this ongoing problem since the second month of haveing the tank. no matter waht i do the algae goes away, then comes back doubled!
tank info
10 gallon
3 platies, 1 guppy, 32 baby platies 1 baby guppy (babies in breeder)
water status: normal
fed once daily
vacumm gravel every 3weeks
25% water change every 3 weeks
filter cartridge changes every 3 weeks
total cleanout once a month
ph tablet every 3-4 weeks
capful nitrite liquid every 3-4 wks
food name if helps: Tetramin Pro tropical crisps

any help is grateley appreciated,

Try a 25% water change every week, along with a gravel vac. The nitrite liquid & pH tablets are a waste of time & money, and may be contributing to the problem.

If you don't have live plants try keeping the lighting to a minimum. If it is anywhere near daylight this could be a major factor.

It would help to see numbers for those water stats, normal doesn't give much to work with.
