Hi all,

Quick question. Does anyone have any clever ideas for dealing with algae that forms on the tank and cover plate glass *out of the water*? I just spent 30 mins cleaning it off the top 1/4 inch and the sliding glass access panels of my tank, bit annoying to do that every week...

Cheers!

Only have 1 25w tube on for 9 hours a day at the moment, and I'm getting a shipment of new plants in a few days so I can't reduce it further. I took the other tube out because it was over the fry net...

Any other solutions? I've heard of wiping lemon juice over it (!)...

I use some heavy strength Comet cleaning solution and it cleans it in a few seconds. Just make sure to clean it off real good before putting it back in place.

Try vinegar. It's natural and a good cleaner but I don't know if vinegar would deter or promote algae growth afterwards.
