Not critical, but in notice that it it takes a few days to create a film on the grass, where before it took about 6 days to notice it. Also its grown more on rocks.

I assume its cos of either of these 2 reasons.

1) - I have just increased lighting by 100% as i bought reflectors

2) 2 weeks ago my flatmate MASSIVELEY overfed my fish (catfish algae pellets) and left it on the bottomk of the tank. I got back from work 12 hours later and hoovered it up and did a big water change. but i did not clean out the filter at the time. I have just done it now, and it was fairly filthy.

Cheers for your help.

More than likely both those reasons.

The plants take a little time to adjust new light, both intensity and spectrums. This adjustment time have have given algae the advantage.

Combine this with the probably spike in NH3/4 due to the excess food and increased algae is virtually inevitable.

yeah looked earlier. I didnt really see alot to tell me how to stop algae in its tracks - mostly it was prevention of algae in the first place. Ill look again.

.............................looked again. I saw it at the bottom. must ahve skim read.
