Algae On Diffuser

so the title is pretty self explanatory. im starting to get some algae growing on my diffuser filter media thing. i tried to rub it off with and algae scraper but i couldnt get it off. can anyone give me a little advice. am i not putting too much power into it? im a little afraid to push down too hard because i dont want to break it.

get some bleach, pour it on,

wait 5mins,

wash it off

then pour on some dechlorinator,

wait 5mins,

wash off

Do this weekly so you can keep up the highest efficiency of the diffuser. When first used, it will look like smoke but this doesnt last long.
