What would you do to prevent/treat algae in a 10-gal tank with plastic plants? I was thinking maybe add a couple of otos, but not sure. It has 5 WCMM and 2 adfs. It's a cloned tank, fully cycled (still keeping an eye on it though). I have plastic plants in there simply bc I can not do live plants in any more tanks. The 3 I have now are killing me! LOL
Anyway, what do you think? Thanks!

Just get an algicidal liquid from the lfs, they work great unless you have inverts (in which case they will die).
Otherwise you could try the oto's but you'll still be scraping a lot.

it is away from sunlight but i want the lights on for about 4hours a day :/ if i get some ottos will it all go ?

will i have much algae trouble in a 50gal with fake plants and a BN afraid of algae?

Almost certainly - unless you keep it well away from direct sunlight and never have the lights on :p

Keep what away from direct sunlight, just the BN or the whole tank?

My guppies completely cleaned my bogwood of algae when i first started my tank, never had any more problems since!

amano shrimp can be another good choice for algae control. Since I put some in my community tank I've never had to clean any algae off anything. That has the lights on 7/8 hrs a day, but the lighting isn't very good.

also any ideas why my BN is afraid of algae? he wil swim up to it then run off and go chew on a leaf and i have a lot of algae and variaty of it :( also can someone post a link on amanos in here i no almost nothing about them

also would a UV steralizer stop algae ive seen a lot of expensive ones but this caught my eye

http://www.lifeforceonline.co.uk/ultra_vio...product269.html

also is this a dangerous level of radiation i dont want any radiation leaking into my tank or the living room :/

there's info on amano's in the fish index under inverts, have a look see :)
