Algae - How to get Rid Of

Hi,

I already have a three small plecos but they don't do it! I don't have the tank in direct sunlight and I don't have any real plants, so the light is only on for about 6 hours a day.

I have algae on the walls, and black hair algae on the plants. How do I get rid of it!

I'm pulling everything out as we speak to clean everything all off, but how do I prevent?

The algae eaters aren't eating enough!

How long have you had your tank set up. Is it a case of "new tank syndrome"

Almost a year the tank has been going now. I should probably change the water more, but I have been travelling a lot lately so it is hard to find the time. I just finished cleaning it out, so we'll see how long it lasts.
