Algae Eating Silicone

not sure if the algae is eating the silicone on the front corners of my 55g or are taking advantage of a excisting problem.
any one ever heard of this before and can i clean it off safely or do I have to reseal?

NEVER even heard of it ! Just clean it off - gently !

If it looks like its under the seal, then i suspect there was a gap there already
