Which fish are the best for getting rid of Algae?

fish arnt great for getting "rid" of the algae. Sure they'll eat it, but what you really need to do is get to the root of the problem (if you have a problem, that is).

Some fish that will eat algae are:
Otos
Bristle Nose Plecs

and then there's always shrimp which will graze on algae all day

You forgot platies, guppies and mollies which will also happily graze on algae. They won't 'get rid' of it though, for that you need to attack the cause.

Well what set up is your tank? How much algae do you have? what sort of algae is it?
