Algae Eaters?

The best way? Elbow grease.

But decreasing lighting (if that suits plant requirements) helps as does a small algae eater such as a bristlenose (IF there's space as they are big poopers and can be territorial towards other bottom feeders).

i think elbow grease is the answer to my algae problem! i have 1 albino cory and a clown loach. and i just bought 5 amano shrimp. i did have a pleco but that died!

i have reduced the lighting alot. but thats only been for a few days as is the shrimp.

whatever any1 says, do not get a flying fox to help with algae problems.
They are algae eaters, but not by preference, spending most of their time browsing on the lost food in the gravel or eating plants (mine likes vallis).
V. nice fish, but not a great help with algae.

I'm afraid the Amano shrimp (though they are good) are really not miracle workers. And they generally don't touch algae on glass.
And a bad case of algae almost not at all.

I have my lights on only for a few hours in the evening when I'm home. And the 4 little bristlenose catfish keep the tank absolutely spotless of algae. Though for that I get a bucket full of poo to syphon out on a weekly basis!
