I currently have a 29 gallon tank with three red zebras and two yellow tailed violet cichlids. The tank has algae. I had a big pleco but they picked on it so bad I gave it away I hate plecos anyway. So what could I get to help eat algae that my cichlids won't eat?

Also, I'm getting a new 55 for them. So bigger tank for more algae. Is there something I could get to put in the big tank that the cichlids would be ok with since they aren't so cramped? No big plecos I am scared of them! :-(

Thanks

some of the africans will eat algae in the tank. the vc-10 is great for eating algae off the glass and the decor in the tank. that is their main staple in their diets. also it is a cichlid. very fast fish and on the smaller side.

keeping lights to a minimum and not setting the tank in direct sunlight will help to control the growth of algae. algae needs light to thrive.
