I am starting to see some algae growth in my 75 gallon Mbuna setup, I have 12 White Labs and 20 Demasoni. As the Demasoni like to pick at algae growth in the wild, I was wondering should I introduce some type of algae clean up crew or leave it for the Demasoni? I am leaning towards adding some type of algae eater as the Demasoni don't seem to be picking at the algae growth around the tank. If I do decide to add something to clean up I think I may add some ottos as oddly enough I have had good luck with adding ottos to my african setups.

Some may disagree at adding fish to solve an algae problem, but with ottos or a small pleco you will never need to clean the glass of the tank :hey:

Nerite snails do an excellent job, and won't breed in the freshwater either :good:

Cheers, Sean

i dont reccomend putting in ottos tbh an ancistrus is far better suited to mbuna aquariums.
they get to a larger size and are generally left alon by the cichlids.
as fo snails i wouldnt really reccommen it either, labs will definately harass these and eat them if they get a chance
