Algae eater for 20 gal hex tank?

I need a small algae eater for my 20 GAL hex community tank.I have a CAE that has grown to about 3 inches but stopped eating algae on the tank side. It is very timid,not aggresive at all but now just hides away all the time.I have small sterbas cory but that doesn't really eat any algae preffering to graze the tank bottom.

The CAE's going to get way too big and aggressive. Meanwhile, I'd scrape it and eradicate the sources of the algae. For instance, how long is your light on? Do you overfeed? Do you have live plants or high nitrates?
