Hi there,

I noticed today that one of my alestes tetras has a rather enlarged stomache... underneith there appears to be a reddish spot about the size of a biro tip and another very small one nearby. He seems his usual self mind, very active, so active i could only manage these pics:

Notice another with a normal sized stomache in comparison:

All the other fish seem fine, water stats are fine (no ammonia or nitrite).

Any idea what this is and what treatment i should try?

I'm going away for a week early sunday morning so i want to get this sorted before i go away!

Jonno.

Have you seen him poo at all?
Possibly try feeding de-shelled, then mushed peas. Or feeding daphina. Also possibly try fasting for 2 to 3 days.

not seen him poo. i suppose have fed them quite a bit more than usual lately as i have been testing my clownloaches on various foods!

will try the pea trick. he'll have a fast for a week come sunday!

any idea what the red dots are though?
