We have an albino red fin shark that keeps putting her belly up on the surface, keeps swimming on her side and upside down. Have now put her in a little nursery net and she is sat on the top of the water with her mouth on top and fin on the bottom.

Had her for the last 6 months with no problems and would say she is a good 125mm long. all our other sharks are fine as well as all our other fish, tank is a 55 galllon and has been set up for the last 7/8 months and is in good order, have had a water change in the last few weeks but all is good. She is still eating but if we leave her in the main tank seems to float around and is pushed by the filter outlet.

Any ideas?

Many thanks

Sounds like you don't change the water often - how often and how much? Usually about 25% weekly is normal.

What other fish are in the tank?

Do you have water stats? (Ammonia/nitrite/nitrate/pH/temp) accurate and up to date.

Lack of balance is usually swim bladder disease or else neural in origin. Does she look otherwise normal?
