Albino Marbled Convict Cichlids

Hi guys, I rescued 21 fry today of the above mentioned fish.........

I dont have a clue what im dong with them!!

I know that they are pretty feisty but thats it.

My tank at present is 5ft long with the following fish in it.....

3 Black/Brown - 1 Pepper - 1 Albino Cory

4 or 5 High Fin Platy's with 3 fry

about 7 or 8 Endlers

4 small angels

1 albino Krib

1 BN plec

1 Gold barb

so I know I cant really keep ANY of the convicts.

What are you planning to do with them? You know you can't keep them. If a pair formed even in a 5 foot tank you're other fish would probably take a good beating/be killed. A single one would probably be too aggressive as well with things like Endlers. So I'd suggest you try and find a new home for them.

Where did you rescue them from?

i had 11 in a 4ft tank, and too be honest they were fine ( i had no idea at the time i bought them that they shouldnt have been) i made sure there were plenty of pots,rocks,plants in there and a pair did form and everything was fine the babies grew up were rehomed, tho i wouldnt want to keep any again as they are aggressive,and they eat all the plants,,and did like an oscar, maybe you can take them to your lfs for a credit or something ?

Tried the LFS they said they have convicts coming out of their ears!!

Im thinking of advertising them on here once they get a little bigger.

Im tempted to keep a pair and set up a seperate tank for them, what could I keep with them though??

I rescue them from a local guy who had rescued them from his mother in law.

i had mine in with blue 3 spot gouramis,plec, and my oscar ( they scared the life out of him after the babies were born)
they are nice,very nice to watch grow ( very fast)

Very easy, females will have orange bellies and males wont. I would gladly take some off your hands. I miss my big male marble con.
