Hi! I have a albino catfish who has laid eggs again yesterday.....I want to save the eggs so I removed them frm my 42 gallon tank n put them in another bowl n supplied oxygen...is there anything else I need to do?
When you say albino cat fish do you mean albino corydoras see picture
If so I had a successful batch hatching and here's how I did it......
I placed the eggs into a small container floating in the tank and kept the eggs clean by changing the water daily with water from the tank. Eggs are prone to fungus infection so remove any that are infected to stop the fungus spreading to the healthy eggs.
The eggs should be well aerated and the water treated with Methylene Blue Trihydrate to prevent fungus from growing on the eggs. Change 50% of the water when the fry start to hatch. When doing a water change be sure the water parameters are always the same.
They take 4-5 days to hatch. They need very small food to eat like baby brine shrimp, finely crushed flake or micro worms until able to eat larger food particles.
