I have a 15g tank with an aquaclear mini. Do I need an airstone? I have a fair few live plants in there. It's pretty noisy at night, I've read the solutions to this but I'm a light sleeper. The AC mini provides a fair bit of surface agitation. The fish don't seem to be gulping at the surface. :dunno:

What type of fish do you have?

I would go with Alaska if they are swiming and acting fine, there would be no need to have an airstone with many small tanks.

Cheers guys,
That what I wanted to hear but wasn't sure. I might leave it covered at the back and turn it on every now and again.

I run an airstone in each of my tanks, but only from the standpoint I think they are pretty, the fish like to play in the bubles (sometimes) and I consider it a backup should my filter ever stop working (dont want them being ammo poisoned and depraved of oxygen).
