Will it work if I say place it under my center piece of driftwood where the bubbles will build up and have more time for the gas to dissipate in the water?

I'm thinking this HAS to be better than just placing an airstone in the water...especially where you can see it. WILL the CO2 gas affect my driftwood??

I would use something a lot better but I do not like visible equipment in my tank.

EDIT: Just wanted to add....this is for a DIY CO2 system not a compressed cylinder or anything.

Thanks!

Nevermind I think I'm going to try something else. I may just come up with a diffuser to fit onto the outlet hose of my Eheim 2217 before it even enters the tank. That will keep it out of sight and should diffuse much of it, no?

well diffusing c02 is a real tricky job :)

you can get low-medium levels of c02 by just bubbling the co2 or trapping it under wood and stuff :) also depending on the size of your tank, simply trapping the c02 under a plastic bell or something can be okay :)

directing the bubbles into the outflow of your filter would perform similar to the upturned cup method but results may vary, to some people they get higher c02 levels, for some they get lower, it depends on the set up.

more efficient means like using reactors maybe the way to go :)

but in reality it all depends on your set up and the c02 demands, so it really is a trial and error thing :) but measure your c02 levels to see which method best suits you :)

OK.....if I say...had a compressed CO2 tank OR a DIY system.....would it matter....what if I put the outlet right by where the inlet of my Eheim 2217 would suck up the CO2 and it SHOULD dissipate through the water by the time it hits the impellor no? No harm done to the impellor?

What do you think?
