Airline Hose For Tank

I work in a Medical Clinic environment here in Bloomsburg Pa.,(I do the X-rays, vitals and whatever needs to be done)and when we do Nebulizer Treatments on patients with Asthma issues or some other breathing problems we throw the treatment line/tubing away. The tubing if I'm not mistaken is right at the size of tubing that you hook up to aquarium pumps, however I wasn't sure if it'd be safe to use----I figure it would be even if I had to soak it in a Bleach/Water solution. I'm a pack rat and frankly I just can't see throwing away a good 6 foot of tubing away, so since yesterday I've scavenged up 2 6 foot pieces just in case. What do you all think, would this be safe and if so how would I go about using it in a tank after being around someones mouth. THANKS.

Soak it in tap water as the chlorine will kill any harmful bacteria. It should be ok to use providing it's the same width as normal airline.

Got home not to long ago and the airline fits perfectly on the pumps that I have, so I'll soak the tubing and then use it when I need to.
