Switchin over some media over to new tank and for some reason when i plugged in the airpump to the bubble stone and put it in the water nothing happened,, little to no bubbles were coming out even though it was working just fine a few hours ago... does anyone know why this might be?

Do you have the valves? You might need to turn the valves and mess around ith the valve until you get the right amount - to let more air in etc.

And make sure you have a non return valve, you don't want water all over the place!

Also, check that they are in and check that air is actually coming from your Air Pump.

:good:

my air pump is a pretty weak one. if you put the stone in and put it all the way at the bottom right away the bubbles die. i believe it's because the water causes more pressure than the pump creates..thus the openings in the stone are filled with water.
if this is the case with yours; buy a bigger airpump; or slowly lower the stones..start with them part way in, then lower and lower gradually

i don't know if that's scientifically correct..but it makes sense to me

Some have an adjustable screw on the side, easily mistaken for a screw part of the constuction.
Also found the rubber bellow inside was not seated properly.

I have a cheap 2.99 Jobbie, and once those two items where sorted it blew like mad.

sometimes they will only blow to a certian depth too try switching it on and lifting the tube and airsyone higher in the water and if it stats bubbling higher in the water its not quite powerfull enough to cope with the water pressure or the diaphragm might need replacing
