I recently bought an air pump/stone for my 10 gallon tank. Though the original one I bought said for up to 10 gallons...didn't seem to be strong enough to force air through the stone. It was an Elite 800...trying to power a 12" long stone. So, I went out and exchanged it for the next one up...an Elite 801. But it STILL didn't put enough air through the whole stone!!
I just went out and exchanged it for a smaller stone, a 6". It works fantastic, except for 2 problems:
1) The vibration on the stone is really REALLY noisy. It's rattling my whole tank it seems
2) There's so many bubbles coming through this thing, it creates a ton of fizz at the top and im worried about my lights. Not to mention the fact that - that also - is annoying lol. I tried covering it with a ton of gravel. But all that did was make bigger, more annoying bubbles
What would you reccomend to fix both of these problems? A valve maybe?
Thanks
