would i need to take out my air bubbles to succesfully home plants??

cheers luke

Depends on how many plants you were looking to put in. Air bubbles cause surface aggitation (*spelling), which in turn is believed to cause the CO2 levels to reduce. Since plants use Co2 in order to grow, then this would make me want to remove it.

If you look at most pics of planted tanks, you will not usually see air bubbles. The plants help produce oxygen for the fishies ;) , so there is the added oxygen.

Hope that helps.

Hi luque :)

Being able to keep plants successfully depends on many factors. Some need considerable amounts of light, others need less. Some need to be rooted in particular kinds of substrate, others do not.

I'm going to move your thread to the Planted Tank section where people who know best about these matters will help you. :D

ok, so can anyone name me some easy ones to get started,

thanks luke

java fern

can be rooted onto rocks/wood/filter/anything and needs nothing special really :good:

just make sure you don't bury it as it will rot and die if its roots are buried

There a Foreground a midground and a backdrop.

it would be hard to recommend any plants yet..

We need to know your Specs. Lighting, Fert substrate
