hi

so i come home this morning from a walk and go check out my fish. i see 4 fish that i had never seen before in my tank, well sorta.

i asked my parents about this and they said my cousins came over and bouyght me some fish. but there is some bad news

they bought me 2x checkerd rainbow fish
1x 3 inch silver shark and 1 sucker mouth loach otherwise knowen as a algae eater,

im taking back the sark today but i think i wanna keep the loach but i dont know about the rainbows.

i ammidiatly foned up my cousins and said thank you but theyre the wrong fish

has anyone else had experience like this?

yea, you're lucky that your cousins didn't add in any fish that might have eaten/hurt your existing fish.

How big is the tank? If it is big enough you can always keep the shark.

if they algae eater is a chinese algae eater i'd take it back too, they get large and aggresive and stop eating algae. its not really a loach either. If its not that.. did you figure out what kind it is?
what size is your tank?
what else is in it?

I wish people would buy me strange fish... mm, strange fish..........

**update**

the rainbows are still there, no diseases,

took the shark back

and the algae eater is the golden form of the CAE and is doing fine with no problems because it is a 36 inch tank(their minimum) and its 40 gals(US) so hes okay.

i mite take the rainbows back because they are big and are still growing and after a recent trip to the zoo with family they had these in a massive tank and i saw their true size so im gonna take them back today or tomorow

DD :)

your algae eater will probably be no problems while he's young, but as they get older thy decide they dont want to eat algae anymore, and would rather have some nice fish slime coat for their dinner instead. They are notorious for sucking out the eyes of other fish, and causing considerable damage to fish, especially flat sided fish such as gourami where they sucker on to eat the slime coat of the victim who is unable to get the algae eater off.... keep an eye on him if you decide to keep him...

Taking all these fish back has surely got you some store credit - Which can't be bad

My dad and brother bought me 6 painted glass fish for Christmas one year. At that time I didn't know that you could return fish, so I left them. Surprisingly, the fish lasted a good 10 or 11 months, and the dye eventually faded away.
