so ive had 3 and 1 left. i had 2 to start off with and somehow it was found down the back of my tank. i bought anouther one to go in with the one i had after i lost the first one and wouldnt you know i go in tonight and can find him only to see his body basically where the other one was that jumped first time. i have lids on my tank that cover back and front. theres small gaps where the filter tubes go in and out but theres still a fare distance between the top of the tank and the water level, i cant figure this out, are they just really freaking good jumpers or what? at 50$ each im not buying anouther one but id like to know how the heck thyve been getting out!!!

rly peeved me off because the 2 ive lost have been although small, very much more mature and coloured then the one ive got which was the original one to survive! ARGH,

Rather then look at how it got out, try to figure out why it got out?, are water parameters ok, are there hiding places, is there a bully in the tank. Is your tank and stocking levels big enough?,

How big is the tank and how long has it been set up for?
Put something in the gaps to stop them jumping out.
The bigger fish could be stressing the new ones out and chasing after them, thus causing them to try to get away. Poor water quality will cause fish to panic and jump. Turning the tank lights on when the room is dark will cause fish to panic and dash about, possibly causing them to jump out.
