My oto is just floating around periodically swimming but only signs I see is redness on his underside, is he bleeding, is it too late to save him, I have no way to get any medication tonight?

thanks a lot

atm

Redness on the belly and underside is septicemia hard to cure once it has progressed.
Need to issolate him as the bacteria from the fish can enter the tank.
I would get going with a bacterial med if he stands a chance of surviving.
What are your stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Stats are fine, my parents won't let me keep a quarentine tank so every time I buy a new fish I try to buy it from a good lfs with no dead fish in the tank. These I bough 6 days ago and I didn't see any dead fish in the tank and the tank wasn't on a central filteration system so I didn't have to worry about any other tanks. Since I can't get any meds tonight would the best thing to do be to enthuzize sp. the fish tonight and buy some meds tomorrow in case their is anything still in the tank, I just did a water change too?

thanks

See how he goes tonight bless him.
Meds maracyn one and two, or maracyn plus.

Thank you very much. O should I not add any fertilizers, he's in a planted tank?

atm

Need both maracyn one and two to treat gram and pos bacteria.
Maracyn
Manufacturer: Mardel
A broad-spectrum antibiotic for gram-positive bacterial infections. For infections of columnaris (body fungus), fin and tail rot, popeye, gill disease, and secondary infections.
Active ingredient: Erythromycin.

Maracyn–Two
Manufacturer: Mardel
A broad-spectrum antibiotic for internal or external gram negative bacterial infections which can even be absorbed through the skin. Effective treatment of fin and tail rot, popeye, gill disease, dropsy (swollen body, protruding scales), septicemia (bleeding or red streaks on the body), secondary and internal infections. Effective even when fish won't eat.
Active ingredient: Mincycline hydrochlor.

O I was just asking would it be best not to add any plant fertilizers, didn't know if it would mess the meds up at all, I don't know a lot about fish disease? Probably should hang out here more and read over your posts.

thanks

Not sure myself to be honest.
I would ask in tropical chit chat about the ferlizers but i doubt it will mess with the meds.

He died. Can I just do a large water change or do I have to still treat the water. I don't have a lot of money right now because I can't ref now and I'm too young still to work at my lfs, only 8 more months till I can?

thanks

Sorry bless him R.I.P.
Just a few daily water changes on the tank.
Good luck.
