well my gf's Molly has been through alot. After making the mistake of using her to cycle we did all we could to keep her alive and she is now doing well in a cycled tank. She has no issues being by herself in a 5 gallon tank. But after trying a Platy inside she became agressive and kept chassing after him. So now he;s in my tank along with 2 AFD and a Cory (2 are gone...working on more soon).

So what I want to know is, what can I do for my Molly, can she have a partner in her tank? I will include a pic of the tank at the end of this post so you can get room ideas. Also I currently add some aquarium salt here and there (when i do weekly water changes). I can add some sand instead of gravel since I have some extra. But also is aquarium salt able to create a brackish water? and if so what options does that give as well?

If you are going to add salt I would suggest ADFs and corys are not suitable tankmates, they do not like salt much. What I'd do personally is put them in another tank and add a few bumblebee gobies to the tank with the molly. They are largely bottom dwellers and if provided with some cover, preferably bogwood, they will not bother the molly. Both they and the molly might survive in freshwater, but will thrive with about three or four teaspoons of aquarium salt added to the water. This does make the water slightly brackish. You could increase the salt well beyond this without harming either species, but there is no point unless you want to keep other brackish fish in there. There are quite a few that you can get, but the best for a small tank with a relatively snappy molly in it would be bumblebees. You will often find them sold in freshwater tanks as freshwater fish but they won't last too long without any salt.
