Hi everyone,
I'm new to this but I thought talking to other beta owners would be a good way to learn about them. Anyway, my question is about my beta (duh) that i've had for about 6 months now. He was always very easygoing and enjoyed just floating there and blowing bubbles. Recently though he's been super agressive, he's the only fish in the tank (which is about 6 gallons). I was watching him today and he was flaring at the plants in there wtih him and also at the little tiki guy in there. Is this normal? he's never acted this way before.

Don't worry, that's normal :) Some bettas have an easy-going attitude while otehrs are just 'lemme at 'em' to everything they see. Some bettas will flare at anything and everything. My sister's betta will flare at anyone who sits at the table and tries to eat chicken wings :p. So don't worry. It's normal :D

Yup, perfectly normal. One of my guys flares at me if I'm late with his dinner. :D
He also likes to flare at his snail, the snail couldn't care less, but it keeps the betta happy.

my fiancee and I just bought 2 males and his flares if he sees a person and will attack your finger if you put it in his tank (can hurt actually) I cant even have a snail in with him ....... My boy hides lol from the snail from ppl lol hes a chicken

You are worried because he only just started doing this is how I read your post. Have you changed his food, put anything new in the tank, moved his tank to a different postion, used different dechlorinator?

It could be his hormones are just kicking in later than usual but just keep an eye out for any signs of clamping fins or illness.
