Hi All

Don’t know if any one can help but one of our Platy’s (Silver Moon Platy, male) seems very aggressive towards a couple of our other Platys (Red Wagtails). We have 2 Silver Moons (1 female, 1 male), 2 (red Wagtails, 1 female, 1 male) and 2 Sunset (both female), but the male Silver Moon is bullying both of the Red Wagtails, at first it was just the male that he kept chasing, now he seems to be chasing the female as well, but he ignores the Sunsets and the other fish that we have. Any suggestions as why or what we can do? Does any body know if the Moon Platys tend to be more aggressive?

Also one of the Sunset Platys is hiding either at the bottom of the tank or behind the rocks at the back of the tank, keeping well out of everybody’s way staying very quiet unless its feeding time when she is up with the rest getting her share, she seems to have got quiet fat, could she be pregnant?

:dunno:

Hope some of you out there have some ideas.

Claire :)

I would add more plants or other decos for the females to hide among. The fat one that is hiding may well be pregnant, especially if you have a male that is aggressive towards the other females. The extra plants will give fry to hide in, as adult platys will eat the fry if they can.
