Have just purchased a Juwel 120 as I have one very mean, aggressive ?? possibly Tropheus brichardi 'Mpimbwe'. She/he keeps nose-butting my other fish every day and I'm worried they may get injured or worse. Does anyone know if it is better to move the aggressive one or, looking at my sig. can anyone suggest how I can split them. Thanks in advance.

I posted this in another thread, but I think - basically - one of the problems you may have is understocking. Of course, IMO - a 40G is not a good tank to house cichlids, unless they're of the dwarf variety. So, you're left with a bit of a dilema - you could use more fish to evenly spread out aggression levels, but you don't have a big enough tank to house them properly. :(

Is your 40G a temp home for them?
