Hey please help me out!!

i am new to fish owning and have had a bit of a problem with my water. I lost 4 out of my 6 guppies! The two left seemed top be ok but i have noticed that ones tail is more jagged than before. We often see them chasing or swimming close to one another and we presumed this was them playing. The guppy with the injured tail is now often hiding out in the bottom of our ship wreck feature. Could this be in fear of the other guppy? (which chases him, who is acting normal) Please help us out, i am worried that this may add to the guppy's level of stress, which is already high due to the unpredictable ammonia and nitrite water levels. Thanks

How many gallons is the tank.
What are your water stats.

Immediate water change.
Increase aeration.
Add some salt if you only have guppys. it helps in a cycling tank.
For salt is usually one tablespoon to 5 gals. Add it gradually, not all at once.
Say half today, then add the next the following day.

How much of the tail has gone. If the fish is struggling to swim it will get exhausted.
Once guppys lose half of there tail they rarely make it.
Are the jaggered edges white, pink, or red.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately our guppy died last night. Our tank recently had high ammonia which we have managed now, but the guppy was already quite poorly.

Bad water quality takes it's toll on fish i'm afraid.

Sorry for your loss.
R.I.P.
