Hi,

Despite my disaster start to fish keeping .. (Didn't take on cycling advice and lost a few fish  )... I'm still keen .. my question is I've got 2 female guppies, 2 ottos and 2 Mollies in my tank .. one is a big male the other is a marbled .. female (I think :dunno: ).. now he/she is a right little bully it pecks the guppies, and the other molly. When my other fish were dying he/she would peck them to .. is this something that Mollies do ? If so I'm not getting any more ...

I want to get another male guppy when I'm happy that the tank is Cycled fully but that nice tail could be pecked to pieces ...

Paul (doing water changes and water tests to ensure I'm not responsible for any more fishy deaths)

One of my female mollies is like this and I've come to the conclusion that it's just in her nature to be agressive to her other tank mates!! The difference with mine is that she doesn't bother with the tetras, just her own kind.

This isn't much help but was just to let you know that I have the same problem!

Well she can suffer now .. she has killed the last Guppy in my tank .. she is on her own now... The guppy was very happy yesterday morning .. fed when offered.

Last night after work she was still alive but on her back ... fished her out to have a look her tail was nipped and one of his side fins was damaged. And Psycho was having another pop at her ..

I'm mad at her I'm realy am .. considered adding some agressive Cichlids to the tank ... or a few tiger barbs .. see how she likes it then ..

I won't be cruel like that but typing this helps me vent my spleen :p

better yet ask your lfs for a aggressive male
i did that with my aggressive female and she took one bite at him and he chased her around for hours biting her back.it is molly behavior and sadly it isnt uncommon, right now he is sick and i am treating him :(
anywasy good luck

I think your "he/she" is disconfigured lol! I suggest that you keep a close eye on them and if this continues, seperate em'

i had an aggressive male which kept chasing my platy around, so i had to separate them and put him in another tank. if you had the room/tank, i would suggest that you separate them that way. is your tank planted? you could provide more hiding space for your guppies so that the mollie cannot get to them.

if you try the aggressive fish, it may go after your other fish in the tank. you could also try to return the fish and maybe get a less aggressive mollie.

i had an agressive one that went crazy, and I put in an african cichlid, and it killed the cichlid! so id take the fish back to an lfs
