I have a 55 Gal which I currently have convicts in. I am considering moving them or taking them back to the LFS. I think I want to start an African Tank.
Right now I want to change the gravel entirely. I have a Penguin 330 with bio wheels. I am wondering if I change the gravel will this restart the cycle. If so can African's survive?
I want some African's that are pretty colors. At the LFS they have yellow and blue colored fish together. I am pretty uninformed about the Africans. I know I have a lot of research to do. That is why I am trying to get started now so I will be well informed and not get my.
Also how do I control the alage. Part of why I need to change the gravel is the algae is so prevalent (brown). I have white and black gravel. I can't stand to see the algae on white gravel.
