I bought two African dwarf frogs last week then bought a 10g tank. I bought that one because it came with the heater for a better price. My nephew set it up for me because be claimed he knew what he was doing. He filled the water all the up. When I asked him if it was too high he told me no. Both the frogs have escaped through whole next to the filter.
If I were to take some of the water out, leaving 5g, would it keep them from escaping? I would like to buy more, but I want to ensure that they will be happy and won't be able to get out. Thanks

I had a 60 L, not sure what that is in gallons and had holes at the top. I covered mine with net. Stopped them getting out and stopped me having to remove water. Where there is a will there is always a way. :good:

I plugged the hole with filter wool after one of my frogs got out.

Did your nephew cycle the filter, or have you used mature media in the new tank? Don't forget that frogs need a cycled filter just like fish.

What are you feeding the frogs? The best staple food is zoo med frog and tadpole food (in the UK) and HBH frog and tadpole food (USA). Live food/frozen live food can be fed once a week.

So long as it's a specialist frog food :good: . Too many people feed them either nothing but bloodworm or fish food.

ow no no that is not god tetra repto frog food is a sinking frog food. I would reccomend it. It is soooo good that the frogs fight the fish off it so they enjoy the meal lol

Yes, my nephew cycled the filter. Thanks for the suggestion.
