Hello there. I am quite new to the fishing/aquarium hobby. I dont know if this is covered here, but I was wondering, what would be some of the proper guidelines to keeping African Dwarf frogs?

I already set up the five gallon tank that I bought, now how many should I keep in my 5 gallon tank? Should I buy a heater for them?

And what kind of fish could I possibly, if any at all, put with them?

And idk, a lot of people seem to think it's wrong to use a 5 gallon tank cause it's so small in size? But that's all I can really afford and have time/room to maintain

thankss

Dwarf frogs are placid and will happily live with fish. I initially kept them in a coldwater set up with four fancy goldfish but later moved them into my tropical tank after my puffers died. In fact no, they lived with my topaz for a week untill my water went funny and killed Puffy :( I blame the frogs for the water spike to be fair.

I would suggest heating the tank as they are tropical by all accounts.

Its the clawed variety of frog you need to be careful with as they have been known to attack fish.

As for how many, well i would suggest no more than a pair in that size tank. Maybe a couple of neons as well but no more as space wise you are rather limited. Of course you could ignore fish and maybe set the tank up to house crabs/shrimp ect?
